More Than Perfect

‘More Than Perfect’ is a detailed account of the NFL team that changed a sport and a city, the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Using firsthand accounts from players and coaches, including Larry Csonka and Don Shula, and also Miami natives, Gloria Estefan and Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, ‘More Than Perfect’ tells the story of the only perfect season in football and the team that came to define Miami as a city. Starting as an expansion team, there seemed to be no hope for the young Miami Dolphins. But with the arrival of Coach Don Shula came the importance of integrating football with personal life, representing not only themselves but also the city of Miami. With the perfect season in hand and the ultimate NFL prize, the Super Bowl title, the Miami Dolphins united themselves and Miamians and went down in history as a team being forever ‘More Than Perfect.’
